Bunker Labs boosts veteran-owned businesses

After serving 25 years in the Army, Juan Biddix Jr. began the journey of starting his own business,
Sarge FITT LLC. Biddix Jr. connected with Bunker Labs, a national nonprofit supporting veteran small businesses and entrepreneurs, to kickstart his small business in Washington, D.C. He joined their Breaking Barriers workshop series, an eight-week virtual program supported by Wells Fargo, designed to create an immediate impact for early to growth-stage businesses by providing access to business tools, resources, capital opportunities, mentorship, and a stronger peer network.

Sarge FITT competed in the DMV Veteran Shark Tank pitch competition sponsored by Prince Georges's County Community College and National Capitol Area United Way. Sarge FITT took third place.

To help veterans succeed as business owners, Wells Fargo is funding $50,000 for two Bunker Labs entrepreneurship workshops, with a goal to train 60 veteran-owned businesses by the end of 2022.
